On Thursday, April 11th, the SPEEDECK team laced up their walking boots and stepped out across the stunning Dunstable Downs, taking on a 5K fundraising walk to support the National Autistic Society, a cause that’s deeply personal to many of us. We raised over £1,000 for this fantastic cause.

Heading down the Dunstable Downs

With the sun shining and spirits high, our 5K quickly turned into an 8.6K adventure (just over 5 miles) as we embraced the beautiful views, rolling hills, and even a cheeky detour to the ice cream van to kick things off! Along the way, we took in the scenery, crossed through fields, tackled a few hills, and paused halfway for a refreshing drink break.

We ended our walk where we started, back at the Downs, where we enjoyed a well-earned team meal and reflected on the day and the importance of the cause. Tired legs, full hearts, and huge smiles all around!

Why we walked

At SPEEDECK, autism acceptance is more than a campaign; it’s personal. Many of our team members have close family connections with autistic individuals, which fuels our commitment to:

  • Supporting better educational opportunities for autistic young people with autism,

  • Promoting inclusive and understanding workplaces

  • Helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in autistic communities

We are proud to support the National Autistic Society, whose work continues to make a real difference in the lives of autistic people across the UK.
